President’s Trophy: Israr Hussain’s five wickets bowl KRL out for 129 as PTV take a 91-run lead and stretch their overall advantage to 135

Day two of the President’s Trophy sixth round in Rawalpindi belonged to PTV, and mostly to one bowler. Left-arm seamer Israr Hussain worked through the KRL batting as the side that had resumed on 59 for two was bowled out for 129. He finished with five for 56, Kashif Ali took three, and Khalil Ahmed picked up two.
There was not much resistance to speak of. Shahzaib Khan top-scored with 31 and Iftikhar Ahmed made 25, and after that the innings simply folded. PTV had made 220 in their first innings, so the lead was 91 — the kind of advantage that keeps the other side chasing the game for the rest of a four-day match.
PTV are in no hurry now
By the close, PTV were 44 for two in their second innings. Yasir Khan and Mohammad Taha went cheaply, but the overall lead is already 135 with eight wickets still in hand. Day three gives them the chance to push it somewhere KRL cannot realistically come back from.
In Islamabad, a wobble for State Bank
The other match, at the Diamond Ground, told a different story. MIT Solutions were dismissed for 376, with Abuzar Tariq’s 77 the top score. State Bank then raced to 108 without loss — and promptly lost their way, closing on 138 for four. Abdullah Fazal made 58 and Sardar Hassan Raza Khan 51, while Khalid Usman’s three for 17 kept MIT firmly in charge. State Bank still trail by 238.
