PIA to Start Direct Islamabad-Birmingham Flights from December 1 as London Services Rise to Seven a Week

PIA Birmingham flights will begin on December 1, with Pakistan International Airlines launching direct services between Islamabad and Birmingham three times a week as it expands its British network.
The flights will run on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays using Boeing 777 aircraft. Flight PK791 will leave Islamabad at 12:15pm and reach Birmingham at 4:00pm local time, while the return service, PK792, will depart Birmingham at 6:30pm and arrive in Islamabad at 7:15am the following morning. The route restores a destination PIA served before its suspension in 2020, and gives Pakistanis living in the UK, students and business travellers another direct option.
London is getting more flights too. From October 27, weekly services to the British capital rise from four to seven — five from Islamabad and two from Lahore — which amounts to daily connectivity between Pakistan and London, even though neither city has a daily flight of its own. Seats on the expanded London operation are already on sale.
To support the growth, PIA has signed a wet-lease agreement with Norway’s Norse Atlantic Airways for two Boeing 787-9 Dreamliners, covering the aircraft along with crew, maintenance and insurance. Both planes are expected to join the fleet in November and add capacity on long-haul routes, including those to the UK. The airline says the expansion is a response to growing travel demand between the two countries.
