Petrol Cut by Another Rs3.93 Per Litre to Rs386.30, Diesel Price Unchanged

The petrol price Pakistan motorists pay at the pump comes down again this weekend. The government on Friday evening cut petrol by Rs3.93 per litre to Rs386.30, while high-speed diesel stays exactly where it was, at Rs396.96 per litre, according to a Petroleum Division notification.
Three days at the new rate
The revised prices run from Saturday, October 17 through Monday, October 19. OGRA worked out the new ex-depot rates under the federal pricing mechanism, and the Petroleum Division put the change down to movements in the world market — Platts rates, premiums and incidental charges all feed into the final figure.
It is the second cut in two days. For Friday, petrol had already been reduced by Rs3.63 to Rs390.23, with diesel nudged up 31 paisa. Fuel prices have been reset daily since mid-July, which is why a single notification now covers the whole weekend instead of the old fortnightly announcement.
Taxes still take the biggest slice
Even after the cut, levies remain a heavy part of what drivers pay — roughly Rs114 per litre in taxes and duties on petrol and Rs100 on diesel. The relief scheme announced in September, offering Rs100 off per litre to motorcycle and rickshaw owners and drivers of cars up to 800cc, also remains in place. In global trade on Friday, crude held steady, with Brent hovering around $106 a barrel, though Middle East supply worries kept prices on course for a weekly gain.
