RIYADH: Twelve people were killed and more than 300 injured in a Houthi attack on Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport, according to Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation. The airport was closed for several hours following the attack before flight operations were gradually restored.

Saudi officials said the strike targeted the airport as part of a series of attacks on Saudi airports, prompting air defence responses and emergency measures across the capital. Hospitals in Riyadh were placed on high alert as the injured were brought in for treatment.

Pakistan strongly condemned the attack on the airport and expressed solidarity with Saudi Arabia, calling the targeting of civilian infrastructure unacceptable. The Foreign Office said Pakistan stands with the Saudi leadership and people in this difficult time.

PIA also suspended its flights to Riyadh in the wake of the attacks on Saudi airports, advising passengers to contact the airline for rebooking and updates.
