Uzbekistan Airways Goes Three-Times Weekly on Tashkent–Islamabad Route From October 26

Islamabad: Uzbekistan Airways has announced a third weekly flight on the Tashkent–Islamabad route. The new schedule takes effect on October 26 — until now flights operated on Tuesdays and Saturdays; under the new timetable aircraft will fly on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The announcement came from the Uzbek embassy.
Nine weekly flights
The addition takes total scheduled weekly flights between Pakistan and Uzbekistan from eight to nine. The Tashkent–Lahore route currently operates four times a week, with Tashkent–Karachi services also running. According to the embassy, the extra flights will expand capacity for tourists, business travellers and transit passengers.
Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva move closer
The embassy says the additional flights will particularly boost tourism from Pakistan to Uzbekistan — the historic Silk Road cities of Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva, along with pilgrimage tourism, are the focus. Tashkent is also being strengthened as a regional hub, giving travellers easy onward connections across Central Asia.
What the numbers say
Embassy figures show more than 20,000 Pakistani tourists visited Uzbekistan in 2025, with nearly 20,000 more travelling there in the first nine months of 2026. The new flights are expected to strengthen trade and cultural ties alongside tourism.
