Roadblock attempt foiled in Sanni, Kachhi
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operations were carried out on November 1 on reports of terrorists belonging to what it described as Indian-sponsored groups, Fitna al-Hindustan and Fitna al-Khawarij.
The first operation took place in the Sanni area of Kachhi district, where the terrorists were trying to set up a roadblock in the city. Security forces moved in before the plan could take shape, killing 10 terrorists and recovering weapons and ammunition from them.
Hideout busted in Kharan after intense exchange of fire
In the second operation, in Kharan district, troops raided a terrorist hideout. Seven terrorists were killed in the intense exchange of fire that followed, and weapons and ammunition were again recovered, the ISPR said.
It was during this exchange in Kharan that Sepoy Hikmatullah, 25, a resident of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Karak district, fought gallantly and embraced martyrdom, according to the statement.
President pays tribute to the fallen soldier
President Asif Ali Zardari commended the security forces for the operations and paid tribute to Sepoy Hikmatullah.
The ISPR said the counterterrorism campaign, under the Azm-e-Istehkam vision approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, would continue at full pace to eliminate what it called foreign-sponsored terrorism from the country.
